Child trust funds online

Mon, 21 Mar 2005

The internet is set to play a major role in helping people access the government's child trust programme.

Childtrustfund.com recently signed a deal with broadband provider Wanadoo to help reach out to the online community.

Child trust funds are part of the government's commitment to extend long-term savings to people from poorer backgrounds.

"We are delighted to partner Wanadoo," said Andrew Haigh of childtrustfund.com.

"This is an excellent fit for two progressive organisations which aim to be accessible to customers as well as providing them with simple, great value products. The internet provides an ideal way for busy young parents to make the most of their Child Trust Fund, so we are pleased to announce this exciting new partnership."

Child trust funds are available to all children born on or after September 1st 2002.

The government is in the process of issuing each of these children with a voucher for £250 or more.
