Invest ethically with Friends Provident
Fri, 23 Sep 2005
A new information system has been set up online by Friends Provident in conjunction with Synaptic Systems giving advice on ethical investment.

The guides provide information on products specifically based on protecting the environment and religion. It focuses on areas of interest for IFAs who have specialist knowledge of ethical investing. The site also includes a video portal as well as the guides.

Selwyn Herring, chief executive for Synaptic Systems said the system provides a comprehensive training tool. "In the next edition of Synaptic Connection, it will focus on the way forward in light of A-Day, enabling users to remain better informed."

During 2004 £10.6 billion was invested in ethical investments . The online guides are the newest tools on the market to further interest in ethical investment.

Patrick Connolly, research and investment manager for John Scott and Partners in Marlow, Buckinghamshire said, "If the site provides information to advisers in the socially responsible arena, then that is a good thing, but the quality of the site depends on the type of information being given.

"This is an area that has grown and people have become more concerned about where they are investing ."
