UK residents looking to invest their money could turn to technology investment trusts, as their future is encouraging, an expert has claimed.
Many investment opportunities are underweight and could be an attractive prospect, claims Ben Rogoff, manager of Polar Capital Technology Trust.
"We are encouraged by a number of themes that we believe are at or approaching inflection points," he remarked.
"Despite unchallenging relative valuations and a promising pipeline of new technologies, retail and institutional investors remain significantly under-invested in the sector."
Mr Rogoff continues that new technological advancements, including broadband and falling communication costs, are leading the technology industry to "deliver on a number of promises made during the last cycle".
"We are on the cusp of a multi-year period of technology outperformance driven by superior earnings growth and an absence of any further compression of relative valuations," the expert adds.
With the rise of the internet in the last decade, many technology companies attracted a great deal of investment.
Although some, such as Scoot.com, were unsuccessful, companies like Google and eBay have grown to be highly lucrative.
