Investments specialists MG Investments has announced details of a new fund that it proposes to introduce in late February 2007, subject to approval by the Financial Services Authority.

The MG Cautious Multi Asset Fund aims to provide a more diverse investments portfolio than rivals in the sector to enable it to produce greater returns.

More specifically, the fund will be able to invest in equities, property , bonds and fixed-income sub-sectors such as leveraged loans , which will potentially give it a wider scope than competitors.

David Jane, manager of the investments fund, explained why he believes the diversity of the fund will help it make an impact in the investments marketplace.

By being truly multi-asset and investing beyond the limitations of traditional cautious managed funds, I can reduce volatility through diversification and enhance risk-adjusted returns, he said.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that consumer prices index inflation had risen to three per cent, which is the highest level in a decade.

Commenting on the revelation, Ted Scott, manager of the UK Growth Income Fund at investments solutions provider FC Asset Management , said that equities have remained resilient, in part because of sustained economic growth across the UK as a whole.
