M&G Investments named Fund Manager of the Year

People reviewing their investments choices may be interested to know that M&G Investments has just been given the Fund Manager of the Year award.

The recognition has been bestowed on the investments specialist by independent financial adviser support network SimplyBiz, which provides financing information on topics such as legal compliance and business development.

The investments organisation received the honour at Simply Biz's Annual Partnerships Awards ceremony.

Ian Thorneycroft, managing director of SimplyBiz, explained the criteria that the judges were looking for when deciding which firms should receive awards.

"The winners of each of the awards are judged on a combination of research and feedback from SimplyBiz members," he said.

"M&G emerged as the leading fund management business for 2006 and our award recognises this."

Many investors may already be aware that M&G Investments has a long history of operating in the financial services sector.

In 1931, it introduced the first unit trust in the UK, while in the 1960s, it brought in the first fund-linked service for private pensions.

More recently, in the 1990s, the investments specialist pioneered products such as the first pure corporate bond fund.
