Stock in China and India is well worth a look for some investors, it has been claimed.
Anna Sofat, the director of AJS Wealth Management, said that such investment opportunities would suit people who are prepared to handle the "rough ride" that may ensue once they have purchased equities .
In addition to these Asian markets, the expert suggested that there may be potential for investment in some other up-and-coming markets, such as those in Africa .
Investing in such markets offers people the opportunity to interact with stocks that are simply unavailable in western markets, notably with small growing companies that are only large due to the relatively small size of a nation's economy, she said.
"I think when you're sticking to the multinationals and the big western companies, I don’t think it makes a difference if you’re trading on London or New York or anywhere else," added Ms Sofat.
According to a BBC report, the Chinese stock market has quadrupled in size since the beginning of 2006, while India's Sensex has risen by 22 per cent thus far in 2007.
