Bargain investments still on offer, expert claims

Wed, 09 Apr 2008

April could offer the chance to pick up bargain investments in the stock market, one expert has claimed.

Nick Raynor, investment advisor at the Share Centre, explained that while the recent volatility will scare of some investors, others will be able to pick up under-valued shares .

He said: "We don't expect 2008 to be a stellar year for the stock market, but this will create plenty of opportunities for investors to pick up a bargain - it looks as though 2008 will be the year of the stock picker not the market follower."

Mr Raynor added that the stock market often performs well in April and this may encourage people to make more investments than they might have otherwise done.

Last week, a survey by Barclays Stockbrokers found that 42 per cent of consumers think that the recent market volatility presents them with a chance to expand their portfolio of investments .
