Emerging markets face some economic challenges but still offer some good investment opportunities, one expert has claimed.
Estrealla Llorente, portfolio manager for Santander Asset Management UK explained that while the credit crunch and the risk of inflation pose a risk for the economies of such countries, they should escape the worst of the situation.
She said: "All the Emerging countries have increasingly diversified their trading partners and depend less on the US, so they should be less impacted by a weaker global economy."
Ms Llorente added that the majority of emerging markets are benefiting from increased investment and this will also help them to flourish.
However, she suggested that people looking to profit from the situation would do well to diversify their investments in order to realise the best possible returns.
Last week, Rhiannon Davies of ShelterOffshore.com, suggested that people moving abroad should take out financial advice to make sure that they make the most of their investments.
