Gas and oil investments experience a strong week

Fri, 18 Apr 2008

Gas and oil-based investments have experienced a very strong week, one expert has claimed.

Angus Rigby, chief executive officer of TD Waterhouse explained that two companies, Empyrean Energy and Nighthawk Energy, had proved popular investments with both expected to open up new supply lines in the near future.

Mr Rigby also stated that UK banks have also been attracting investments.

He said: "The old adage of 'buy low and sell high' appears to have rung true this week for our investors, as UK banks take up the top six positions on our most popular stock buys and accounted for three-quarters of these trades."

Mr Rigby added that the prospect of government help for UK banks is part of the reason that such investments have been so popular.

Earlier this week, Andrew Tully of Standard Life claimed that timing is key for people looking to make stock market investments during a period of economic volatility.
