Wed, 19 Nov 2008

A new guide aimed at helping parents invest for their children's future has been published.

Entitled "Guide to Investing for Children," the document from F&C aims to inform people as to how to give their kids the best financial start in life.

The booklet covers a range of investments including the child trust fund as well as other long and short-term options.

Additionally, the publication deals with tax issues relating to children and investments made on their behalf.

F&C claims that it "cuts through the financial jargon to provide all the helpful information investors may need".

The guide also includes information on potential choices, costs and website which might be useful to parents when considering how to invest for their child's future.

Yesterday, Standard Life Investments revealed that its European Equity Growth fund has provided a return of 42.2 per cent since launching in November 1998.

According to the firm, this is 15.9 per cent more than the average for the sector.
