A new report has been published, explaining how innovative firms are offering sustainable investment opportunities.
Put together by UK Sustainable Investment and Finance, the report looks at some of the new investment houses and the range of asset classes, geographical opportunities and sustainability themes they are making available.
Penny Shepherd MBE, chief executive of UKSIF, said that dialogue with these organisations has found that they are driving new investment ideas, catering to the sophisticated investor.
She added: This report should help institutional and high net worth investors and their advisers to understand the approaches available.
It provides insight into the growing sophistication of sustainable investment and the breadth and depth of sustainable investment opportunities .
A report from EIRIS, the London based non-profit responsible investment research specialists, recently established that £9.5 billion is now invested in green and ethical retail funds in the UK.
The figure comes from 750,000 investors and is considerably higher than the £2.4 billion that was invested in 1999.
