The government is trying to raise awareness of additional investments available to children with disabilities .
From this April, children with disabilities will have an additional £100 put into their child trust funds (CTF) every year, with the number rising to £200 for those with severe disabilities.
The treasury believes around 90,000 children will benefit from these top-ups, with 40,000 of them receiving the maximum £200.
Exchequer secretary to the Treasury, Sarah McCarthy-Fry said: Children with disabilities may face particular challenges as they become adults.
These annual payments are an important investment for disabled children across the country and will help them to realise their aspirations in future.
The Conservative Party has said that, if voted into government , it would cut CTFs for most families while the Liberal Democrats have said that they would abolish the scheme completely.
This is despite the fact that a survey by Family Investment recently showed that 96 per cent of parents think CTFs are a good thing.
