Santander
Santander is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Spanish Santander Group. It has become the biggest challenger to the UK’s long-established 'big four' brands of Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds and NatWest.
Santander first bought the branches and savings business of Bradford & Bingley, but not its mortgages division, and then bought the entire business of Alliance & Leicester. By 2010 all the UK brands were absorbed under the Santander name and the bank also bought over 300 branches from RBS.
The bank offers a wide range of investment opportunities for those that are willing to part with a little or a lot. It offers fixed-term investments, premium investments and a portfolio of investments designed to provide income.
