Financial Services > Investments > Wine > Selling your wine investments
Should you decide to sell your wine there are effectively two methods of evaluating a wines worth i.e. how much you are prepared to sell for or how much someone else is willing to buy for.
Much will depend upon how the wine has been stored, whether you have its "provenance" or history, the condition of the bottle, label, the level of the wine, how many bottles you have and of course whether your particular wine is in demand.
Your wine merchant will generally use auction prices as a guide, with valuations usually being 10% - 15% higher than current auction prices. "Decanter" and "Wine" magazines both publish up to date information on a monthly basis.
